🛰️ 1. Chronological History of Indian Satellites

Explore important Indian satellites and spacecraft in chronological order. The list highlights major milestones, not every satellite ever launched.

Remember: A satellite is an object placed in orbit. PSLV and GSLV are rockets used to carry satellites into space.

🌏 2. Types of Indian Satellites

Satellites are classified according to their purpose and the work they perform.

🚀 3. Indian Satellite Launch Vehicles

Important: PSLV, GSLV, LVM3 and SSLV are not satellites. They are launch vehicles or rockets.

📡 7. How Does a Satellite Work?

A satellite receives information through sensors or communication antennas, processes or transmits the information, and sends signals to ground stations.
ComponentFunction
Solar PanelsConvert sunlight into electrical energy.
BatteryStores electrical energy for use during eclipse periods.
AntennaTransmits and receives radio signals.
TransponderReceives, processes and retransmits communication signals.
PayloadScientific instrument or equipment performing the mission.
BusMain satellite platform supporting its subsystems.
Attitude ControlMaintains the required orientation of the satellite.
Propulsion SystemProvides thrust for orbit changes and manoeuvres.
On-board ComputerControls and manages satellite operations.
Ground StationCommunicates with and monitors the satellite.

LEARNING IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME (LIP) - Interactive Tools in Physical Science, Mathematics, English

1. Introduction to the LIP Programme

The Learning Improvement Programme (LIP) is an important educational quality-enhancement initiative implemented by the School Education Department, Government of Telangana. Its primary purpose is to identify learning gaps among schoolchildren, strengthen essential academic competencies and improve students' understanding of different subjects.

The programme recognises that students studying in the same class may have different levels of understanding. Some learners may be able to read fluently, solve mathematical problems and understand scientific concepts, while others may still struggle with basic skills acquired in earlier classes.

LIP seeks to address these differences through systematic assessment, classroom-based interventions, appropriate teaching strategies and continuous monitoring of student progress.

Target classes: Classes VI to IX.

The Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS), ASCI, and Save the Children have also been associated with the programme's development and implementation support.

2. Why was the LIP Programme introduced in Telangana?

The introduction of LIP addresses several educational challenges observed in upper-primary and high-school classrooms.

Major learning challenges

  1. Reading difficulties: Some students experience difficulty reading textbooks fluently and understanding the meaning of passages.

  2. Weak writing skills: Learners may struggle to express their thoughts in complete sentences and write meaningful answers.

  3. Mathematical difficulties: Students may have gaps in number operations, fractions, decimals, percentages and problem-solving.

  4. Limited conceptual understanding: Some learners memorise definitions and answers without understanding the underlying concepts. ntifying individual learning needs and providing suitable opportunities for improvement.

3. Major objectives of the Telangana LIP Programme

The important objectives include:

  • Identifying the learning levels of students in Classes VI to IX.

  • Improving reading fluency and reading comprehension.

  • Developing writing and communication skills.

  • Strengthening foundational mathematical abilities.

  • Improving subject-specific learning outcomes in Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
